Ways to Volunteer
Deliver Groceries
Join the Full Hearts grocery crew as you pack nutritious groceries for our families every Thursday at 9:00 am.
Volunteers deliver groceries to over 90 families each week in Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and South Santa Clara counties.
There is currently a waitlist for our Full Hearts program. Please reach out to our volunteer coordinator to be added to this waitlist.
Decorate Cards and Grocery Bags
Decorate kid's cards! Each month we send greeting cards to our children and their siblings. These cards let them know that someone is thinking of them.
Decorate grocery bags! Every week we deliver fresh groceries to our families and volunteers help us decorate those grocery bags adding extra love to our deliveries.
Both of these tasks can be done through remote or in-person volunteering.
Assist Staff with Office Tasks
The staff members at Jacob's Heart always enjoy a helping hand. We have different projects going on at our center as we continue growing. Tasks vary day to day. Check-in with the volunteer coordinator to find out what we currently need help with.
Support Events
If your time is limited we have special events throughout the year:
Art from the Heart - a quarterly 2 hour event where families and children come to our Family Art Center to create beautiful art projects with the help of volunteers and staff.
Camp Heart + Hands - a yearly event where families have a 3-day camp experience to connect with other Jacob's Heart families. Volunteers commit to a short 4 hour shift to help set up activities for the day.
Forever Loved - a yearly 3-day camp for our bereaved families. This is a place where memories are shared and families are able to come together in a supportive environment. Volunteers help out with set up, craft activities, or clean up.
Holiday Hearts - During the holidays, organizations and donors in our community adopt a Jacob's Heart family and buy them gifts from their wish lists. Volunteers help us organize and wrap all these gifts.
